Life Strides Day Support Program

Skill Building Support

Life Strides-Life Strides Day Support is a high-intensity, center-based day program that provides skill-building support for the acquisition, retention, or improvement of self-help, socialization, community integration, and adaptive skills. Day support provides opportunities for peer interaction, community integration, and enhancement of social networks. With that, program participants are encouraged to participate in a variety of volunteer activities such as delivering for “Meals on Wheels, “ working at “Habitat for Humanity,” or sorting food donations at the local FACES food bank.

Day support services are coordinated with physical, occupational, or speech /language therapies that are part of the person-centered planning approach.  Day support activities include  personal care tasks, developing self-awareness, developing sensory or gross motor skills,  and providing safety supports to ensure health and safety.

This service is funded through various funding sources such as the ID Waiver, but private pay and other arrangements are negotiated.  Transportation can be coordinated through Medicaid for eligible individuals.
